Mmmmm…Chocolate Chia Seed Raspberry Parfait.
This chia parfait is healthy, will help satisfy that sweet tooth, increase your energy levels and keep you feeling full. I just had it as an afternoon snack with a cup of coffee. 🙂
Here are two super-simple ways on how to make it:
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups Silk “True Almond- Dark Chocolate Milk.”
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
or
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk (or use some homemade almond milk)
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
- 1 tbsp 100% pure raw cacao powder
- 1 tsp 100% all natural maple syrup (optional)
Directions:
- Mix all of the ingredients together and place in a sealed container in the fridge overnight. The chia seeds will expand absorbing the liquid making a thick creamy pudding-like texture.
- Re-stir the next day prior to serving. You may also add a little more almond milk if you find the consistency is too thick.
I like to make the chia pudding ahead of time and enjoy it as a snack or even serve as dessert in little glass bowls. Just before I serve them, I top with fresh fruit, a tad of whip cream and a dash of cinnamon! ♥
There are just so many reasons as to why this delicious chocolaty pudding has been given an A+ in nutrition. For starters, raw cacao power provides the body with a good dose of much-needed, stress-relieving magnesium, your B vitamins, protein and fibre. The almond milk used, is an excellent source of calcium, vitamin D and B12. Finally, chia seeds are these tiny little, nutrient-dense seeds that provide the body with some BIG health benefits. Here are just a few:
